It's all fun and games illustrating your friends' mishaps, but I'm an equal opportunity cartoonist, so here is one of my own.
I left work for a mid-morning dentist appointment that involved novocaine, drilling, and woe.
When I got back to work, I noticed that someone had placed a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting on the "community" kitchen table (meaning it was up for grabs).
I deserved cake after that appointment, so I launched myself on it and wrestled with the tricky plastic container to free it from its prison, and almost did this...
It was pure cat-like reflexes that kept certain disaster from happening.
I cut a reasonably sized serving of cake, and then balanced said slice on the plastic knife to transfer it over to my plate that was nestled next to the plastic container bottom.
The cake flung itself off on the knife, landed upside down, and smeared itself all over the table and half of the plate
I scraped the cake and as much frosting as possible onto the plate, mopped up as much frosting as possible with a paper towel, and scurried back to my office to eat my cake, forgetting that I was still numb from the dentist appointment, which is why I spent the rest of the day finding frosting and cake bits in strange places.
People at work wonder why I rarely eat in public... this is why.
